Jeffrey Carr is an experienced business development executive with extensive expertise in healthcare organizations. He has led initiatives in business development, sales, contracting, strategy, growth, digital assets, and marketing. Currently, Mr. Carr serves the Mayo Clinic, where he provides strategy, business development, and market research for the top-ranked health system in the U.S. and the world.
Previously, as Vice President of Business Development at the Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC), the largest independent healthcare accreditation organization in the U.S., Mr. Carr was responsible for business development, marketing, education, and sales. During his tenure, he opened new distribution channels and diversified the product portfolio to include over 40 accreditations. He restructured the business development and sales teams from regional to product-focused verticals and expanded URAC’s presence internationally as a global leader in telehealth, pharmacy, mental/behavioral health, and remote patient monitoring accreditation.
Prior to URAC, Mr. Carr spent 26 years at Inova as the Corporate & Consumer Services Growth Officer. His focus included physician and employer business development, hospital services, employer and producer partnerships, employee benefits, strategic relationships, marketing, contracting, community advocacy, digital health, and ambulatory care services. He led go-to-market strategy efforts and, in partnership with a leading insurer, launched a new business entity that grew to 150,000 members within 20 months, making it the fastest-growing insurance company in the U.S. Mr. Carr also developed premium services and established the first, and currently the largest, employer-based concierge subscription program within a health system in the country. Additionally, he commercialized new services across multiple service lines, serving over 2,000 employers nationwide, and opened employer-based clinics for both government agencies and Fortune 500 companies.
Mr. Carr is highly skilled in building and leading successful sales and business development teams. He has provided consulting and training for prominent health systems and employers across the U.S. and is a sought-after subject matter expert speaker globally. An active community volunteer, he has dedicated his time to numerous organizations, with a special focus on youth development.
