Jorge Fernandez is a healthcare executive with more than 40 years of experience in the provider channel including revenue cycle operations, consulting, healthcare technology, and commercial execution. As Chair of the Health System Channel at NEV, Jorge is responsible for managing and growing NEV’s ecosystem of health system leaders and pairs that network with evidence-based, provider-facing technologies built to solve the channel’s most pressing challenges. His work spans integrated delivery networks, academic medical centers, regional and community health systems, and private equity-backed provider organizations.
Jorge built his career on the provider side, advancing from internal audit and accounts receivable roles to Business Office Director and ultimately Vice President of Revenue Cycle with CHRISTUS Health, HCA, UHS, and LifeCare. His provider leadership spans hospitals ranging from 74 to more than 1,500 beds.
He has since held leadership and consulting roles with Deloitte, Capgemini, Protiviti, MedAssets, R1/CloudMed, McKesson, Availity, Vizient, Sutherland, Firstsource, and Knowtion Health. His expertise includes revenue cycle transformation, patient financial services, healthcare technology, and strategies that connect self-pay populations with SSI/SSDI programs to improve financial performance and increase Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) revenue.
An active leader in the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) for more than 14 years, Jorge currently serves as HFMA Lone Star Membership Chair and previously served as Lone Star Chapter President, Region 9 Regional Executive, and a member of the HFMA Board of Directors and Education Advisory Committee.
Known for his consultative approach and extensive national network, Jorge connects health systems with innovative solutions and aligns operational, financial, and technology strategies to drive meaningful outcomes.
