Mike Pace has carved a record of global health technology commercial growth at the intersection of biotechnology, chemical engineering, software development and value-based healthcare.
Mike formed and led the trailblazing Market Access, Health Economics and Real World Evidence team at prescription digital therapeutics (PDT) pioneering Pear Therapeutics from May 2019 until March 2021, where he led the first few dozen payers in America to cover Pear’s PDTs. Prior to joining Pear, he was SVP & Divisional Principal of ICON’s Value Strategy Consulting practice and Global Pricing & Market Access team of 60+ consultants in the US and Europe. Mike has held chief commercial, product and business development roles with digital health companies including OM1 and Beansprout Networks (acquired by IQVIA), as well as leading sales, marketing, training, leadership development and managed markets functions during his tenure with specialty and primary care biopharmaceutical leaders EMD Serono, Allergan and Sanofi predecessor companies.
Mike’s career has been characterized by breaking molds, including pioneering the 1st outcomes-based agreements for a specialty biologic with a health plan and PBM (Cigna, Prime Therapeutics) and the 1st PDT value-based agreement with a PBM (Prime Therapeutics) in the United States, as well as leading teams that conceived and launched the hallmark biotech industry reference, EMD Serono Specialty Digest™ and the hallmark Rx DTX industry reference, Pear PDT Digest.. Across both life sciences and healthtech sectors, Mike has actualized many dozens of outcomes and value-based payer arrangements and innovative strategic partnerships between digital health, biopharma, payer and technology value chain stakeholders. He has orchestrated market access and driven innovative go-to-market models for some of the world’s most cutting edge technologies and novel therapeutics.
Mike earned his BSBA in Finance and Banking from the University of Missouri-Columbia and his MBA in Entrepreneurship and Marketing from the FW Olin School of Business at Babson College, while also studying at London Business School, MIT Sloan School of Management, Thunderbird School of Global Management and IMD Business School in Switzerland.
