Terron Sims, II, a combat veteran, businessman, political leader, and proud West Point graduate, is the CEO and Founder of Doug Pollard Strategies. With over three decades of professional experience in the US Army, Department of Defense (DoD), the private sector, and throughout our federal and state governments, Mr. Sims is a national security subject matter expert whom both military, political, and business leaders readily rely upon.
Mr. Sims deployed to Iraq from May 2003 to July 2004, where he was key in establishing and mentoring Baghdad’s provincial government, serving as the primary liaison to the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA), the United Nations (UN), Baghdad City Hall, and Iraq’s federal government. As the Deputy Chief-of-Training for the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) and Fort Polk, Mr. Sims designed and led the pre-development of a $29 Million dollar real-world training / fighting village, which stayed within budget.
Coordinating with Joint Staff, Mr. Sims supported Army Current Operations – tasking the Army’s major commands in support of our nation’s combat operations in the Middle East, Afghanistan, Africa, Latin America, and various overseas and US operations. Mr. Sims supported the Assistant Chief-of-Staff of the Army for Installation Management (ACSIM), developing and managing the system that streamlined the Army’s installation requirements budget validation process in preparation for congressional review. Additionally, Mr. Sims developed DoD’s Sexual Assault Incident Database (DSAID), which tracks all DoD sexual assault and harassment cases throughout the entire force.
As a national security subject matter expert, Mr. Sims has been a primary policy writer and advisor for US Presidential candidates since 2008. In 2013, Mr. Sims wrote the Veterans Services and National Security Policy Platforms for the (UK) Labour Party and briefed the latter to Labour’s Shadow Defense Minister and her Shadow Cabinet. He has worked with US congressional and state government leaders in getting legislation written, passed, and appropriated. Mr. Sims has worked directly with Presidential Senior Advisors and Presidential Appointees in crafting and implementing international deals and defense and veterans policy. He has well-established bipartisan relationships throughout The US Congress, DoD, The Dept of the Army, The Dept of Veterans Affairs, The State Dept, and other federal departments and agencies, and throughout our state governments.
